Description

Inspired by the filmmaker’s own mother and her experience with hearing loss, ‘Silence’ is an insightful short that tells the story of a young deaf girl who struggles to fit in. Nine-year-old Bahar has recently lost her ability to hear due to an infection. Her parents cannot afford to send her to a special needs school, so she begins to feel increasingly isolated from her peers. This feeling of alienation is the beginning of a series of desperate acts culminating in an attempt to cure herself.
