The Last Straw
Ajyal Competition - Ajyal Film Festival 2024
Description
When Ívar is stranded on a remote mountain road in the Faroe Islands during mid-winter, he is forced to reach out to his estranged brother, Mikkjal, for help. Initially refused, Ívar's offer of money persuades Mikkjal to assist him, albeit reluctantly. However, the mix of money, distrust, and unresolved issues quickly leads to a long-overdue confrontation. ‘The Last Straw’ explores the fragile nature of family bonds, the complexities of forgiveness, and the emotional weight carried by past grievances in the stark, unforgiving landscape of the Faroe Islands.
