Description

Set in a remote Lebanese village, Canary in a Coal Mine follows Anis, who is left to guard his aunt’s house for the night. When thieves break in, Anis pretends to be one of them to survive. Coerced into helping them steal from the home, he later discovers that the intruders are actually corrupt law enforcement officers. This darkly comedic tale offers a sharp commentary on the pervasive corruption in Lebanon and the absurd roles that citizens often play within it.
