Description

Facing a life-changing asylum interview in just two days, Souleymane, a young Guinean immigrant, must juggle his work as a bicycle courier with the mounting pressures of his undocumented life in Paris. Boris Lojkine

Boris Lojkine, a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure with a background in philosophy, began his career directing documentaries focused on post-war Vietnamese experiences, including ‘Ceux Qui Restent’ and ‘Les Âmes Errantes’. Transitioning to fiction, Lojkine’s first feature, ‘Hope’, received acclaim at Cannes Critics' Week. His second film, ‘Camille’, won multiple accolades, including the Audience Award at Locarno. ‘The Story of Souleymane’, winner at Cannes 2024 in Un Certain Regard, continues his exploration of poignant social narratives.
