Description
In Dheisheh refugee camp, young Wisam struggles with grief and isolation following his younger brother’s death. When he finds his brother’s last milk tooth, memories resurface, reminding him of his promise to throw it into the sea—an unreachable place due to restrictions. Determined to keep his word, Wisam sets out on a dangerous journey that explores themes of love, loss, and resilience. His quest becomes a testament to the strength found in family bonds and the lengths taken to preserve memories.

Saif Hammash
Saif Hammash is a Palestinian filmmaking student based in Dheisheh Refugee Camp, Bethlehem. Throughout his studies, he has directed short fiction, experimental, and documentary films, and has worked on numerous other productions as a scriptwriter, assistant director, and editor. His work was featured in the Palestinian Refugees Film Festival, where he served as editor in 2022. His filmography includes ‘Escape Attempt’ and ‘Click of a Button’. ‘The Deer's Tooth’ is his latest short fiction film, exploring themes of memory, loss, and familial connection.
