Description
A father’s health scare changes his life, leading him to an extreme organic lifestyle in an effort to maintain control over his health. However, his strict routines and dietary restrictions create a rift with his son, who lives a healthy life but does not meet his father’s standards. Through conversations and self-reflection, the son attempts to bridge their divide, exploring the underlying fears and family dynamics driving their conflict. The film highlights the complex interplay between personal choices, family expectations and how fear can shape relationships in profound ways.

Paul Abraham is an Indian filmmaker based in Qatar whose background in architecture shapes his cinematic storytelling. His work explores narrative and visual composition, blending architectural elements with film. ‘Alkaline’ marks his continued journey in documentary filmmaking and narrative expression.
Abdulla Al-Hor, a Qatari filmmaker with an MA in Film and Media from Johns Hopkins University, focuses on sound recording and design. His recent project, ‘The Experiment’, is currently in post-production. Al-Hor is also a Teaching Assistant at Qatar University, contributing to film studies.
